Job Description

A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary/Paralegal hybrid to support a civil litigation practice, working closely in a 3:1 desk arrangement with one Trusts & Estates partner. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly engaged professional who enjoys being deeply involved and partnering with attorneys on active cases. Trusts & Estates experience is a plus but not required-training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support attorneys in civil litigation matters, including trial preparation
  • Prepare, proof, and e-file documents with state courts
  • Manage calendars, deadlines, and court rules
  • Draft legal documents, correspondence, and discovery materials
  • Maintain files using iManage and other legal software
  • Administrative support such as coordinating travel, ensuring timely client billing, following up with vendors, etc.
  • Collaborate closely with attorneys as an integral member of the case team

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of civil litigation experience required
  • Strong state e-filing experience (federal and bankruptcy a plus)
  • Comfortable with technology and legal software
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
  • Engaged, collaborative mindset-someone who wants to be deeply involved in cases

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $70,000 - $95,000 DOE (up to $100,000 for exceptional candidates)
  • 100% employer-paid medical coverage for employees (dependents covered by employee)
  • Exceptional 401(k) with firm contributions (3% after year one; 8.5% after year two)
